April Umbrella Cards

Call Me Clover Boot & Umbrella Card

Original by Bonnie O’Neill

To stamp the boots & umbrella, I used masks on the boots while I stamped the umbrella and I used a mask on the umbrella to stamp the umbrella handle.  I’ve included the masks in your envelope.

The little flowers are stamped, colored with Blends, and then cut out by hand.  When I make the card again, I’ll use a different flower stamp that is also in the set.  This stamp has a little handle-like thing that I cut off.  I colored it before I cut it out.

When I colored the boots, I used the Light & Dark Call Me Clover Blends; when I colored the umbrella, I used Light & Dark Daffodil Delight Blends.

I stamped the greeting after I colored the umbrella & boots.  I used the black Memento pad to stamp the greeting.

Before you attach the white card stock to the Daffodil  card stock, stamp the little flowers along the edge.

I colored the diamonds with the Dark Call Me Clover Blend.

I stamped the larger flower group on the inside and on the envelope.

Assemble as shown.

Three Umbrellas with Checkered Layer Card

Original by Connie Babbert

This is a fun card and pretty easy.  I love the colors.

Stamp the umbrellas on three different colors of card stock and then punch them out.  Then punch out the handles using the punch and Basic Black card stock.

Just lay the umbrellas where you want them to be and then lay the handles where you want them to be.  Put two dimensionals on the back of each umbrella, positioning the dimensionals sort of toward the edges of the umbrella so that you’ll have room to slip the handles under the umbrellas.  I put a little bit of green glue on a little scrap and then touched the back of the handles into the glue and slid them under each umbrella as shown.

Assemble as shown and add the diamonds when the card is assembled.

Three Umbrellas with Ornate Garden Paper Card

Inspired by Akiko Sudano

Score or fold card base at 5 ½ inches. Set aside.

You have a piece of designer paper for the flap of the envelope and also a 1” x 4 ¼” piece of designer paper for the bottom of the inside of the card.

Stamp the umbrellas on to the small pieces of designer paper.  Punch them out, and punch three umbrella handles out of black card stock.

Run the Terracotta Tile card stock through an embossing machine using the Subtle embossing folder.  Stamp the rain drops using the Terracotta Tile ink pad.

Adhere the  black and Terracotta card stock together.

Stamp greeting on to white oval.  Lay it on to the Terracotta Tile card stock for positioning purposes.

Position the umbrellas on the Terracotta layer and slip the handles behind them.  Move them around until you’re happy with the way it looks. Lift the umbrella tops and place one dimensional on each end of the top, leaving space in the middle for the handle.

After you have the tops in place, make a very small puddle of green glue.  Dip the top end of the handle into that glue puddle and slip it into place.

Add the greeting using dimensionals.

After the card is completely assembled, place the Gilded Gems on the top of the umbrellas.  I used the largest ones, and I think they’re too big.  I’ll give you the mediums. The Gilded Gems are part of the sneak peek, Ornate Garden suite.  See below for where to find it.

Thinking of You Daffodil & Highland Heather Card

Original by Sandra (no last name)

This card is really easy except for fussy cutting the flowers. I love the card, but I don’t love fussy cutting; however, the card is worth the fussy cutting.  By the way, the boots are very easy to cut.

I stamped the umbrella first on to the white cardstock for the top layer.  I then stamped the flowers 5 times on to a white scrap.  I colored the flowers with Lt & Dk Highland Heather, Lt & Dk  Daffodil Delight, and Lt & Dk Old Olive Blends.

I have a tip for the cut flowers.  As I trimmed, sometimes I had a little white showing where I hadn’t done a good enough job.  I just touched the Blend to that spot and it covered it very well.

I colored the umbrella with Lt & Dk Highland Heather Blends.  Stamp the boots on to a scrap of the designer paper and cut them out.

Punch the umbrella handle out with a scrap of Highland Heather card stock.  I shortened the handle a tiny bit and then covered it with flowers.  To adhere the handle, I just put snail on the back lower part of it.

Assemble card as shown.  The only dimensionals are under the white layer of the card and under the boots.  Everything else is adhered with snail.

Catalog/Paper Shares

Hello My Dear Stamping Friends,

I finally have the catalog/paper shares figured out.   I drove poor Jim to drink as I confused myself and asked him to help me figure it out. He had to have a little scotch.

The details of the shares are listed below.

These are all beautiful and some include ribbon and embellishments.  You’ll have a great sampling of most of the papers, ribbons, and embellishments. There are 11 shares:  10 of them are $10 each, and the one with 143 6 x 6 pieces of paper is $50. If you purchase all 11 shares, I’ll send you a set of the new In Color markers (value $17.24 value).  I’ll post pictures of the suites on Wednesday when Stampin’ Up! allows it.  I’ve also given you the catalog page numbers.

If you purchase at least $50 of these shares, you’ll qualify for the 4-card package that I’ve been sending out each month.  This month we’ll feature By the Dock & the Jar of Flowers bundles.  I’ll post pictures, on my blog, of this month’s cards as soon as they’re created.

The deadline for you to let me know that you want to purchase shares is Sunday, June 7, 2020.  I’ll get them out to you as soon as possible after that.  If there are back orders, we can talk and decide what to do about them.

If you want to use your credit card, I’ll need to use it when I place the order.

You won’t be able to use this purchase for your club order; I’m sorry, but there’s no way that I can make it work.

You’ll be so excited to receive these shares—they will help you decide which ones that you want to purchase individual packages of.

If you have any questions, please let me know: call or text—303-888-1862 or call—303-674-6435.

I hope that stamping during our covid stay-at-home time makes your day more enjoyable, and that you’re sending cards to your family and friends to make their days better.  Think of the enjoyment they’re getting when they open their mail.

I appreciate you every day; thank you so much, Pat

May’s Featured Stamps – Ornate Gardens

If you want to create those four cards, you’ll need to order at least some of the items used.  Or, you can make your cards using other stamps & accessories.  (I’ve listed the supplies below.)  My host code for May is:  M6M3CQYG.

To see the new Ornate Garden Suite, please go to www.stampinlady.com and click on Shop Now.  You’ll need to click on Ornate Garden Suite, which is on the left of the screen.

All four of the card packets that I’ll send you use at least some of the items listed below.  I’ll give you the info for these and then I’ll just list them in the directions.

(We are social distancing—she came up yesterday and we sat outside.  It was very windy and pretty chilly, but we were very glad to see each other and we exchanged stamping stuff and books.)  I’ll get the pictures and directions for the cards out a bit later.

When I took the picture of each card, I made sure that the envelope showed.  Whatever is on the outside of the envelope is what’s on the inside.

Ornate Garden Mint Macaron Card with Little Flowers DSP

Original by Cathy Harker

The designer paper makes these cards very easy.

Stamp the flowers on the front panel, the inside panel, and the envelope.  When coloring the envelope with blends, put a piece of paper inside the envelope so that the blends can’t bleed through to the back.

The greeting is stamped using the Terracotta Tile pad, and the flowers are colored with Lt Calypso Coral & Lt & Dk Mint Macaron Blends as well as the Terracotta Tile marker.

The only piece that has dimensionals under it is the white one.  Everything else is just attached with snail.

The bow is attached with a glue dot.

Perennial Birthday Card Kit

Hello My Friends,

Thank you so much for stopping in to see these beautiful cards from the Perennial Birthday Card Kit.

I made them pretty quickly and they were very easy–the hardest part for me was tying the bows.  I think knots will work just as welL.

The kit contains four of each card design, the box, and all of the supplies you need except for:  the stamp set, Da[[er Denim, Flirty Flamingo, and Old Olive stamp pads, and glue dots.

Editorial note:  we are sorry that the pictures display sideways.  There seems to be an issue with the software we use and the fix is not obvious.  When we build the page, the photos have the correct orientation, but when we publish the page it gets messed up.

Stamparatus

Hello My Friends,

I AM SO EXCITED!  I’ve been waiting and waiting for Stampin’ Up! to release this type of tool.

Stampin’ UP! announced some of the details while we were at the event we just came home from and the rest of the details Monday morning,

We now have a stamp positioning tool.  It’s called a Stamparatus.  It’s absolutely different and way better than anything else on the market.  It has two clear plates that your stamps will attach to.  These plates are repositionable and reversible.  Two of the sides of the Stamparatus are open so that you can use larger pieces of card stock in it.  With the two repositionable plates, you have 4 surfaces that you can use.  And, it’s only $49.

With any amount of luck, I’ll put a video of this wonderful tool into this post.

It’s going to be sold differently than anything we’ve ever had:  tomorrow, November 16, we’ll all be able to reserve one of these magical tools, and we’ll receive it around February 1st, while supplies last.

The reservation process starts at 2:00 p.m. tomorrow, Thursday, November 16.  To reserve yours, sign in to the Stampin’ UP website, www.stampinup.com.  You’ll see a “Reserve” button.  Click on that.  It’s very easy to reserve; you will need your credit card.  You may need my demonstrator ID number in order for me to get credit for your sale when it ships.  My number is 20209.

The reservations dates will be listed below and each one comes with the warning: while supplies last.

Reservation Dates                                          Available to ship

You may reserve now, and pay for it when it becomes available to you.  You’ll receive an email just before it ships and you’ll be able to add anything you want to your order.   Therefore, you’ll qualify for Sale-a-Bration rewards.  (February & March delivery dates only.)

You may only reserve one, but you can reserve one for each of the reservation dates.

This would make a wonderful Christmas gift.  The way I do this kind of Christmas gift is to print off a picture of the product and then add a small gift that they’ll have on Christmas day so they have something right then.  Think how excited your loved ones will be when they see what you’ve given them!

If you order one of these wonderful tools during the first reservation period using my information, I’ll  send you a package of Rhinestone Basic Jewels, shown on page 197 of the regular catalog.  You will need to let me know that you’ve reserved it as I won’t have that info until you receive the Stamparatus.

I’ve been SO excited since I saw the Stamparatus last Thursday.  I didn’t have any of the details, but I fell in love with it.  Please watch the video; it really is amazing.

If you have any questions, please let me know. I love to talk stamping.  Text or cell 303-888-1862.  Home 303-674-6435.  Or, you may email me at pat@stampinlady.com.

Excitedly stamping and hugs to you.

Stampin’ Blends

Hello Stamping Friends,

Jim & I have been having a getaway and we’ve enjoyed it so much.  Jim taught a class in Los Angeles and then we’ve been vacationing.

We spent one day touring the USS Midway—what a fabulous thing to do.  I loved it and Jim loved it even more as he was checking all of the mechanical systems out.  I even got to do a little gambling in Primm, Nevada, on our way to visit some of Utah’s National Parks.

We had visited these parks before, but we knew we wanted to see them again.  We visited Zion, Bryce, and Capitol Reef.  If you haven’t seen them, I highly recommend that you work them into your vacation plans sometime.  We think Utah is a little-known gem.

And now, we’re just taking it easy for a couple of days and then we'll be in Salt Lake City for Stampin’ Up!’s On Stage (we used to call it convention).  I can’t wait.  Every event that Stampin’ Up! presents is always SO much fun and we learn so much.

While Jim was teaching one day, I decided it was time to break out my new Blends that just became available for purchase on November 1.  They are absolutely wonderful.  I’ll show you what I colored a little later in this post.  Anyway, they are so smooth.  I started out by coloring one leaf with the light shade and then another close leaf in the dark shade.  After I finished that, I started blending.

Here’s what I colored:

For the blending, I put down the light color of the duo, added highlights with the dark color, and then I used the light one to blend.  It was so easy and I love the look.  One of the next things I want to do is make the cards that are in the kit that’s available for purchase.

The 12 x 12 designer paper that I used is called Just Add Color.  I had so much fun coloring it and now I can cut it up and layer it on to cards.  Love it!  I think it will be so fun to see what colors I’ve used in each cut piece and then decide what color card stock I want to use for the card.

The Blends are available individually or as a set.  There’s a kit that you can purchase with the Blends as well as a stamp set.  You should use the Memento pad when using the Blends.  Each Blend is $4.50. Each Combo Pack is $9 and includes both the light & dark shades. Here’s what’s available:
