April Umbrella Cards

Call Me Clover Boot & Umbrella Card

Original by Bonnie O’Neill

To stamp the boots & umbrella, I used masks on the boots while I stamped the umbrella and I used a mask on the umbrella to stamp the umbrella handle.  I’ve included the masks in your envelope.

The little flowers are stamped, colored with Blends, and then cut out by hand.  When I make the card again, I’ll use a different flower stamp that is also in the set.  This stamp has a little handle-like thing that I cut off.  I colored it before I cut it out.

When I colored the boots, I used the Light & Dark Call Me Clover Blends; when I colored the umbrella, I used Light & Dark Daffodil Delight Blends.

I stamped the greeting after I colored the umbrella & boots.  I used the black Memento pad to stamp the greeting.

Before you attach the white card stock to the Daffodil  card stock, stamp the little flowers along the edge.

I colored the diamonds with the Dark Call Me Clover Blend.

I stamped the larger flower group on the inside and on the envelope.

Assemble as shown.

Three Umbrellas with Checkered Layer Card

Original by Connie Babbert

This is a fun card and pretty easy.  I love the colors.

Stamp the umbrellas on three different colors of card stock and then punch them out.  Then punch out the handles using the punch and Basic Black card stock.

Just lay the umbrellas where you want them to be and then lay the handles where you want them to be.  Put two dimensionals on the back of each umbrella, positioning the dimensionals sort of toward the edges of the umbrella so that you’ll have room to slip the handles under the umbrellas.  I put a little bit of green glue on a little scrap and then touched the back of the handles into the glue and slid them under each umbrella as shown.

Assemble as shown and add the diamonds when the card is assembled.

Three Umbrellas with Ornate Garden Paper Card

Inspired by Akiko Sudano

Score or fold card base at 5 ½ inches. Set aside.

You have a piece of designer paper for the flap of the envelope and also a 1” x 4 ¼” piece of designer paper for the bottom of the inside of the card.

Stamp the umbrellas on to the small pieces of designer paper.  Punch them out, and punch three umbrella handles out of black card stock.

Run the Terracotta Tile card stock through an embossing machine using the Subtle embossing folder.  Stamp the rain drops using the Terracotta Tile ink pad.

Adhere the  black and Terracotta card stock together.

Stamp greeting on to white oval.  Lay it on to the Terracotta Tile card stock for positioning purposes.

Position the umbrellas on the Terracotta layer and slip the handles behind them.  Move them around until you’re happy with the way it looks. Lift the umbrella tops and place one dimensional on each end of the top, leaving space in the middle for the handle.

After you have the tops in place, make a very small puddle of green glue.  Dip the top end of the handle into that glue puddle and slip it into place.

Add the greeting using dimensionals.

After the card is completely assembled, place the Gilded Gems on the top of the umbrellas.  I used the largest ones, and I think they’re too big.  I’ll give you the mediums. The Gilded Gems are part of the sneak peek, Ornate Garden suite.  See below for where to find it.

Thinking of You Daffodil & Highland Heather Card

Original by Sandra (no last name)

This card is really easy except for fussy cutting the flowers. I love the card, but I don’t love fussy cutting; however, the card is worth the fussy cutting.  By the way, the boots are very easy to cut.

I stamped the umbrella first on to the white cardstock for the top layer.  I then stamped the flowers 5 times on to a white scrap.  I colored the flowers with Lt & Dk Highland Heather, Lt & Dk  Daffodil Delight, and Lt & Dk Old Olive Blends.

I have a tip for the cut flowers.  As I trimmed, sometimes I had a little white showing where I hadn’t done a good enough job.  I just touched the Blend to that spot and it covered it very well.

I colored the umbrella with Lt & Dk Highland Heather Blends.  Stamp the boots on to a scrap of the designer paper and cut them out.

Punch the umbrella handle out with a scrap of Highland Heather card stock.  I shortened the handle a tiny bit and then covered it with flowers.  To adhere the handle, I just put snail on the back lower part of it.

Assemble card as shown.  The only dimensionals are under the white layer of the card and under the boots.  Everything else is adhered with snail.
