Stampin’ Blends

Hello Stamping Friends,

Jim & I have been having a getaway and we’ve enjoyed it so much.  Jim taught a class in Los Angeles and then we’ve been vacationing.

We spent one day touring the USS Midway—what a fabulous thing to do.  I loved it and Jim loved it even more as he was checking all of the mechanical systems out.  I even got to do a little gambling in Primm, Nevada, on our way to visit some of Utah’s National Parks.

We had visited these parks before, but we knew we wanted to see them again.  We visited Zion, Bryce, and Capitol Reef.  If you haven’t seen them, I highly recommend that you work them into your vacation plans sometime.  We think Utah is a little-known gem.

And now, we’re just taking it easy for a couple of days and then we'll be in Salt Lake City for Stampin’ Up!’s On Stage (we used to call it convention).  I can’t wait.  Every event that Stampin’ Up! presents is always SO much fun and we learn so much.

While Jim was teaching one day, I decided it was time to break out my new Blends that just became available for purchase on November 1.  They are absolutely wonderful.  I’ll show you what I colored a little later in this post.  Anyway, they are so smooth.  I started out by coloring one leaf with the light shade and then another close leaf in the dark shade.  After I finished that, I started blending.

Here’s what I colored:

For the blending, I put down the light color of the duo, added highlights with the dark color, and then I used the light one to blend.  It was so easy and I love the look.  One of the next things I want to do is make the cards that are in the kit that’s available for purchase.

The 12 x 12 designer paper that I used is called Just Add Color.  I had so much fun coloring it and now I can cut it up and layer it on to cards.  Love it!  I think it will be so fun to see what colors I’ve used in each cut piece and then decide what color card stock I want to use for the card.

The Blends are available individually or as a set.  There’s a kit that you can purchase with the Blends as well as a stamp set.  You should use the Memento pad when using the Blends.  Each Blend is $4.50. Each Combo Pack is $9 and includes both the light & dark shades. Here’s what’s available:
