Colorful Seasons Green Leaves Card

Hello My Dear Stamping Friends,

I’m a little behind with this post.

We’re camping at Heaton Bay Campground near Dillon Reservoir.  We have granddaughter Molly with us; it’s so much fun to have her.

We went down early Monday morning for Lisa’s surgery and came back up Tuesday morning.  I just face-timed with her and that made me feel good.  She’s doing so well all things considered.

The card I’m showing you is the one that I’ll use for my Thailand trip swap.   It is so versatile as it has something for all seasons in it. I used two old techniques that we haven’t used in awhile:  the marbles technique and the baby wipes technique.

I don’t  seem to have my usual tools  with me so the directions won’t be quite as good this time.

Pretty Label punch, p. 207, 143715, $18.

Gold Faceted Gems, p. 197, 144141, $5.

The marble technique is what I used for the background.  I put a few drops of Pear Pizzazz reinker (maybe 5) into a wood stamp case (they’re available but not in catalog) and dropped in 3 marbles.  I ran the marbles through the ink until I thought the marbles were coated.  I then put a little piece of snail on the back of my white cs and taped it to the lid of the case.  Then I closed the case and ran the marbles over that.  Then I repeated with another case and Garden Green reinker.

To stamp the leaf bases, I put several drops of each of the above colors onto a baby wipe and that became my stamp pad.  (The colors bleed together on the baby wipe.)

I then stamped the leaf outline over the large leaves with Garden Green ink.

For the greeting, I punched one label from the Whisper White and two from the Garden green.  I then “surrounded” the white label with two green labels.  Then I attached it with dimensionals.

This will be a beautiful card using Fall colors, too.  For this one, I wanted Spring/Summer.

Enjoy this card; it’s really fun to use these old techniques again.

Please let me know if you have any questions; I love to talk stamping.
